Digital Village is rolling out a large number of free public wifi hotspots along the Garden Route, funded by Western Cape provincial government and sponsored by Cloud Connect.

Each user will get 150MB of data per day at no cost, and additional data can be purchased from local resellers at subsidised rates.

The incubator will be partnering with Digital Village and the George Municipality in the construction of a municipal portal where citizens can report faulty streetlights, potholes, etc, and get access to their rates bills and other municipal services.

Wikipedia and select government sites will be accessible for free from the network, even once the daily usage limit have been exhausted.
